In my images, I seek to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary. Whether on the streets of New York, the wilderness of Wyoming or the friendly streets of Havana. I like to challenge myself and my audience to think and reflect. My unique style can be attributed to my desire to always push the ‘envelope’, work with diverse equipment (amongst others: Pinhole cameras, Holgas, 35mm, large format, medium format and digital) and use the knowledge I have gained in the past four and one half decades.
Photography is a vision; its a capture of a moment never to be repeated again. I love to do work that captures mystery and interest. My latest body of work is pinhole photography: I love the vignettes, shadows and unpredictable aberrations that it affords me, and I do it all on film.
These words and those on my ‘current work’ page should in no way be considered an 'Artists Statement', for I have no pretense as to have a 'statement'. These are my thoughts about something that I have always and will always love: edgy and thought-provoking photography.
